England's victory over Australia in the final of the Rugby World Cup is a sore subject for any Aussie, but for one Shropshire-based man the reality of his country's defeat came at great expense to his own dignity.

As Jonny Wilkinson's drop goal flew over the bar sealing England's 20-17 win, Tim Wesley who hails from Sydney knew his Pom colleagues at the Hundred House Hotel in Norton, near Bridgnorth, would take more pleasure than most in the triumph.
English rugby fan Stuart Phillips, who is head chef and a partner in the family run business, decided to take on his Aussie colleague in a bet of their own based on the result of the final.
Stuart, 39, and Tim, who is the senior sous chef at the hotel agreed that if their team lost they would be placed in the ancient stocks opposite the impressive Georgian inn and face whatever was thrown at them.
On arriving at work on Tuesday, Tim faced the inevitable with as much courage as the Aussie front row .......
